3D Effect

Sorry I haven't posted in a while. I have been recovering from a recent surgery. Now I'm back. I played around in Photoshop and I created a cool 3D effect. It wasn't that easy to do. It did take me a few days. I haven't used Photoshop as much, but I think it came out nice.

Waterfalls

On Monday, I left my house at 5:30am with my dad. We spent the day up in the White Mountains, taking waterfall photos. We went to The Basin, Baby Flume, Silver Cascade and Arethusa Falls. It was a long hike to Arethusa Falls, but it was worth it. Here are some of the photos I took.

Rembrandt Lighting

Rembrandt Lighting is having one main light, or key light and one other light. One light has to be at a 45 degree angle and the other light has to be at eye level of your model. That makes a triangle form below your model's eye. Here are five photos I took using Rembrandt Lighting.

Shutter Speed

Shutter speed can make unique photos. Shutter speed is the length of time the digital sensor is exposed to light. I took these four photos at different shutter speeds.

Learning about lighting

Lighting plays a big role in photography. There are three types of lighting. Frontal lighting, Sidelighting and Backlighting. Try taking one frontal, backlight and a sidelight photo and put them in black and white. For school, I had to learn about the different types of lighting and take five photos of an egg in black and white.

Learning to see

I walked around my school without a camera to get some ideas of what to take photos of. After I got four ideas, I went out and took the photos I thought of the next day. The photos that I took came out better than I thought.
